Overstay is an intelligent ANPR-based solution that automatically monitors how long vehicles remain within a defined area. By tracking vehicle entry and exit movements through smart ANPR cameras, the system identifies vehicles that exceed a predefined time limit and instantly generates alerts or events for further action.

Main characteristics
1. Automatic overstay detection
The system calculates the dwell time of each vehicle using entry and exit data captured by ANPR cameras. If the predefined time limit is exceeded, an event is automatically generated with supporting evidence (images and timestamps).
Powered by Macq’s QCAM cameras, the solution leverages high-accuracy license plate recognition (>99%) and onboard processing. Data is processed directly in the camera, reducing bandwidth usage and ensuring system reliability.
3. Privacy-first architecture
A push–pull data approach ensures that images are only transmitted when necessary (e.g. in case of a violation). Additional features such as image blurring, license plate hashing, and secure data transfer ensure full GDPR compliance.
Users can define time limits, whitelists, and enforcement schedules via the M³ platform. The system adapts easily to different use cases, such as residents, suppliers, or event-based access rules.
