A key advantage of Macq’s interpolation model is its ability to overcome Floating Car Data (FCD) limitations. While FCD provides speed and service level insights, it often lacks accurate vehicle volume and classification data. Macq’s model addresses these gaps by merging precise measurements from traffic equipment with FCD coverage, delivering accurate metrics by vehicle class across the entire road network.
Our solution is available in two versions to meet varying needs:
- Historic Traffic Metrics Interpolation: This offline model is ideal for obtaining comprehensive traffic data across the entire road network with limited resources. It's used for applications such as shadow tolling, long-term traffic analytics, roadwork planning, and strategic support for evaluating mobility policies.
- Real-Time Traffic Metric Interpolation: Designed for dynamic traffic monitoring, this model captures current traffic trends, though its accuracy is dependent on the availability and quality of source data.
