What's the added value?
To improve the mobility of our communities, understanding our environment is crucial. Our smart cameras not only detect license plates but also capture extensive details, including the classification (8+ classes), make, model, speed, lane and, for vehicles transporting dangerous goods, even the ADR plate of the vehicle. Moreover, our smart cameras can even detect vulnerable road users, enabling multi-modal traffic monitoring and analysis.
Through the capabilities of our M3 to fuse and process data from various sources, and the intelligence of our AI traffic models to interpolate and forecast traffic counts and speed for all road segments (even those without sensors) Macq provides in-depth analysis of traffic volume, speed, travel times, origin-destination patterns and even CO2 estimations, tailored to specific vehicle classes.
Presented in our intuitive dashboards, these insights provide invaluable support to decision-makers, enabling them to effectively adress challenges, devise sustainable solutions and evaluate their impact to make necessary adjustments.
Belgium: Walloon region Success Story with Trademex
Trademex is a large scale mobility project with SPW (Public Service of Wallonia) and Sofico aimed to create a better understanding of the road traffic in the Walloon region.
Macq delivers traffic metrics, i.e. speeds, volumes and densities, for all road segments of the main network in Wallonia. Since not all roads have sensors and most sensors are installed on highways, we developed a robust interpolation model leveraging the strength of various data sources. By fully exploiting the information from inductive counting loops, Macq cameras and floating car data, are able to provide an accurate estimation of traffic over more than 10.000 road segments. This information, available in our M3 platform, improves the understanding of road traffic and provides invaluable support to decision-makers for traffic management & road maintenance.
